People in Staffordshire have been asked to help identify which plants and animals in the county should be made a priority for conservation.

The move is part of plans by the council to draw up a long-term scheme to recover, protect and enhance nature and wildlife in the area.

The authority said the survey would find locations in the county where habitats could be improved to reverse any decline of species.

Such habitats could include woodlands, rivers, and meadows, the council said.

The online survey has been drawn up by the authority for residents, external to complete about which animals and plants they feel are most important to them and will close in late June.
