Urgent repairs to a damaged sewer will start later, Wessex Water confirmed.

The roadworks in Castle Street, Salisbury, are estimated to finish on 14 June.

Three-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation 24 hours a day at the junction with Mill Stream Approach.

“We’re sorry for any traffic delays caused by this urgent and essential work on our sewerage network," a Wessex Water spokesperson said.

“Our repair teams will be working extended hours and at weekends, with temporary lights required to work quickly and safely."

There will be no interruption to customers’ water supply or sewerage services during the works, Wessex Water confirmed.
