A man has been left with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Huddersfield.
It happened on Wakefield Road, close to the junction with Poplar Street, at about 06:20 BST on Friday, according to West Yorkshire Police.
The car, a black Nissan Juke, was thought to have mounted the pavement before colliding with the pedestrian and the window of business premises, officers said.
A man was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and remained in custody, a spokesperson added.
The road was closed for investigations but was later reopened.
Police asked anyone who saw what happened, or who had information useful to the investigation, to get in touch.
