A burglar caught hiding under a pile of clothes at a block of flats has been jailed for three years and eight months.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Crow Hill Rise in Mansfield in the early hours of 23 January 2023 after three neighbouring properties were targeted.

Officers visited nearby flats and discovered items stolen during the burglaries, with McKenzie Randle found inside one property.

The 27-year-old, of Pickard Street in Mansfield, admitted three counts of burglary and one of theft from a motor vehicle when appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.

Det Con David Smith, who led the burglary investigation, said: “Despite his relatively young age, Randle has an extensive offending history demonstrating his clear disregard for abiding by the law.

“He committed these latest burglaries without any regard whatsoever for the financial and significant emotional impact on the victims and I am pleased he is back behind bars."
