Parking will be suspended in some parts of St Peter Port for the King and Queen's visit, while a no-fly zone for drones will be set up around the town, Guernsey Police and States have said.

St Peter Port Seafront will also be closed to traffic from Sunday 14 July until the end of Tuesday 16 July for Seafront Sunday and the royal visit, the States said.

People travelling to the town should use public transport, cycle or walk where possible, it said.

Police said a 1.5 mile (2.4km) no-fly zone for drones around Government House will operate for 24 hours from 20:00 on Monday evening as part of security precautions.

It said there was an exemption for one Coastguard drone.

Police warned that anyone flying a drone in the exclusion zone "will be committing a criminal offence and could be prosecuted".

The town bus terminus will temporarily relocate to North Beach until the end of Tuesday, the States said, with buses operating a Saturday service on Tuesday.
