A 25-year-old man is in hospital with a stab wound after police responded to reports of men "armed with knives" outside Bond Street Tube station in the West End in the early hours of New Year's Day.

The Metropolitan Police said no arrests had been made and has appealed for witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage to come forward.

The police were called at 04:04 GMT and found the wounded man at the junction of Oxford Street and South Molton Street.

A police cordon is in place around Bond Street station and forensic officers have been on the scene collecting evidence.
