A Christmas display which covers an entire cul-de-sac and includes 100,000 bulbs has been put up by one of the residents.
Dan Noall, from Hayle, Cornwall, has installed the lights on the houses, with the owners' permission.
He said the celebrations were part of a family tradition which started more than 20 years ago.
The £400 electricity bill for the festive display is paid for by Mr Noall and his family, and the lights will be up until 4 January.
"It was started by my father and we have just carried it on," said Mr Noall.
He said if residents did not want their house involved in the display "we of course respect their wishes", but "it's all about the joy".
"Generally speaking most people don't mind having a free Christmas decorations put on their house."
Mr Noall said compared to three or four years ago "it's probably half the cost to run it even though it's twice as big" because he had changed the bulbs to LED.
"It's like a magical winter wonderland here."
