Fire crews struggled to get between vehicles on Westbourne Road in Luton on Thursday

Firefighters have pleaded with drivers to park considerately after an engine struggled to get past vehicles on double yellow lines during a call-out.

Crews from Luton said in a Facebook post, external that "several cars were illegally/poorly parked which slowed our approach" on Westbourne Road on Thursday.

"Thankfully" the incident ended up not being serious, they said, but it "may not be the case in the future".

"Please be more considerate when parking and only park in areas which are designated for parking," they said.
