Convicted murderer on the run from police
James Meehan was convicted in 2009 for the murder of Jim McFadden.

A convicted murderer serving a life sentence is currently at large after going on the run.
James Meehan, 55, was convicted in 2009 for the murder of Londonderry man Jim McFadden.
On Friday evening the police issued an appeal to locate Meehan after he failed to return while on day release from HMP Magilligan.
Police appealed to anyone who has seen Meehan or who knows of his whereabouts not to approach him directly but call them.
