Climber suffers head injury in fall at quarry

A climber was rescued after falling from a height at a quarry in Derbyshire.

Buxton Mountain Rescue Team was called to Hoffman Quarry at Harper Hill, Buxton, after a man fell while climbing at the site at 11:22 BST on Friday.

The climber fell about 3m (9.8ft) and briefly lost consciousness due to a head injury, a spokesperson said.

He was airlifted to a location where an ambulance was waiting to take him to hospital.
