Two disused static homes caught fire at a holiday park

  • Published

An investigation is under way to determine what caused two disused static homes to catch fire at a holiday park.

Fire crews from Mereway and Moulton were called to the Billing Aquadrome, external in Northamptonshire shortly before 15:00 BST and used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets.

Part of the A45 was briefly closed due to a large smoke plume, but it has since reopened.

A Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said crews had remained on scene to dampen the area.

The site's new owners have recently spent millions upgrading the Aquadrome, which residents say has brought it "back to life" after flooding problems.
