The A1(M) has reopened southbound after a serious crash near Boston Spa led to a seven-hour closure.

Emergency services were called to the scene between J45 near Wetherby and J44 for Tadcaster at 13:20 BST, after a vehicle overturned and left the carriageway, West Yorkshire Police said.

The southbound route was closed until about 20:30 BST, according to National Highways.

West Yorkshire Police has been contacted by the BBC for further comment.

"There are 2 miles congestion following this incident so please allow time for delays to clear."
