People living in a Surrey borough are being invited to join tours of the area to help create a planning bible.

Spelthorne Borough Council, which has its headquarters in Staines-upon-Thames, is creating what it calls a design code, containing rules that will influence what future buildings are allowed to be built.

The authority has launched a public consultation to find out what people want included in the design code.

To help gather opinions, two-hour walking and digital tours of the district are being held between Thursday and 18 July.

The council said the tours will be a chance for people to share ideas about urban development with council officers and others on the walks.
