An exhibition celebrating the Mr Men and Little Miss series has launched in Sussex.
On show are a reimagining of the characters from different artists, including Adam Hargreaves, the son of original author, Roger Hargreaves.
Artwork from six contemporary artists from the UK, France and Armenia is also on display.
The display, at the Helm Gallery, in Brighton, will be available to visit until 21 July.
Throughout the exhibition, there will painting for children and the chance to meet Adam Hargreaves, who will draw people their own Mr Men or Little Miss sketch.
The work will range from paintings to pencil drawings, hand-gilded glass to AI compositions, with limited-edition prints and merchandise created especially for the event.
In conjunction with the exhibition, internationally acclaimed artist Will Blood will be creating a public art mural in The Lanes, which can be watched live.
The series was originally created in 1971 by Roger Hargreaves, who came up with Mr Tickle when his young son asked what a tickle looked like.
The books were previously turned into a children's BBC TV animation between 1974-1985, which was narrated by Dad's Army actor Arthur Lowe
The author died aged 53 in 1988 following a stroke.
Adam Hargreaves said his father's characters are "ageless because each character is a little bit of us".
He said: "Happiness 30 years ago is the same as happiness now.
"So I really enjoy seeing other interpretations of the characters."
Two new characters have recently been announced for the Mr Men and Little Miss book series - Little Miss Surprise and Mr Fib.
