Man charged with kidnap after woman 'forced into car'

A man has been charged with kidnap and assault after a woman in her 20s was "grabbed" and put into a car.

The incident happened in Market Place, Chalfont St Peter, in Buckinghamshire, at about 19:35 BST on Friday 19 July.

Thames Valley Police, external said "witnesses saw the victim screaming, asking the offender to leave her alone" as she was picked up and put in the front passenger seat of a dark coloured Audi, which was then driven towards High Street.

She did not sustain any injuries, the force added.

A 35-year-old-man from Chalfont St Peter was charged with one count of kidnap, one count of affray and one count of assault.

Investigating officer, Det Con Sarah Lansley, said: "We are specifically appealing for the members of the public who witnessed this incident to please get in touch.

"We would also ask anyone who may have dash-cam footage or CCTV of the incident to please come forward.
