A man has been jailed for the sexual assault of a woman while she was asleep.

Jordan Wade, 28, from Werrington, Peterborough, inappropriately touched his victim at her Peterborough home on 3 February, 2021, police said.

He was arrested after the woman reported the incident to police.

Wade was convicted of assault by penetration at Peterborough Crown Court and was made the subject of a five-year restraining order.

Det Con Andrew Donaldson, of Cambridgeshire Police, thanked the victim for coming forward to give evidence in court three years after the attack.

He said: “Sexual crimes have a massive impact on victims, and we take all allegations very seriously.

"We would encourage victims to come forward – you will be treated sensitively and supported.”
