Three people have been treated for breathing in smoke after a "significant fire" at a house.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to Southtown Road in Great Yarmouth at about 08:20 GMT on Monday.

"Crews turned up and found a significant fire in a first floor bedroom with flames coming out of the window," station manager Kevin Game said.

The blaze has since been brought under control and an investigation will be carried out, the fire service added.

"We've got three people at the moment who are suffering from mild smoke inhalation," Mr Game said.

"They've been administered with oxygen and their injuries aren't serious."

Mr Game said firefighters "acted decisively" to bring the flames under control.
