Suspected boiler theft could be house fire cause

The fire broke out on Meadow Lane, Tamworth during the early hours of Thursday

A boiler stolen from a home on a new-build estate could have been the cause of a fire, police believe.

Emergency services were called to Meadow Lane, Tamworth, during the early hours of Thursday after smoke and flames were seen.

The homes were unoccupied and gas and electricity supplies to nearby properties were isolated for safety.

Staffordshire Police is now appealing for information and camera footage from the housing estate from the night of the fire.
