Birmingham New Street warning over train strikes

Rail passengers have been urged to check before they travel on Friday as strikes mean there will be no services to and from Birmingham New Street station.
New strikes are being launched by train drivers over pay and working conditions.
Staff at 16 train companies will take part in rolling one-day walk outs between Friday and Monday.
There would be no services on Friday to and from Birmingham New Street, Network Rail warned.
Of the 16 firms, strike action by Aslef union members will affect CrossCountry, Avanti West Coast and West Midlands Trains on Friday.
Passengers were advised to check their rail operator's website or the National Rail website, external for up-to-date travel information as some companies hope to run reduced services despite the industrial action.
Birmingham New Street station would be open from 07:00-20:00 BST on Friday for shopping, Network Rail added.
