A driver has been charged with immigration offences after a six-year-old child and a woman were found hidden in a lorry.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the pair, both Albanian nationals, were allegedly smuggled into the UK and were found by Border Force officers who searched the vehicle after it arrived on a ferry from the Netherlands to the port of Killingholme, in North Lincolnshire, on Sunday.
A 36-year-old man, from Poland, is accused of two offences relating to facilitating illegal immigration. He appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Two other men, who are Albanian nationals aged 26 and 44, have also been arrested in connection with the incident, the NCA has said.
The lorry driver was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Grimsby Crown Court on 22 April.
According to the NCA, the 44-year-old detained man has been released on bail pending further enquiries, while the 26-year-old remained in custody because he is "believed to be the subject of an Interpol Red Notice".
The agency said its investigation was continuing.
