In meteorology, the 1 March marks the start of spring, whereas astronomical spring will start this year on 20 March.
Our Weather Watchers captured the unsettled start to the season.
Here are some of our favourites.

Rainbows were spotted in Torver in Cumbria

The sheep enjoyed a spot of sunshine in Keswick

Rain clouds created a stunning backdrop in Seaham

You could barely see the trees through the fog in Spennymoor

Barnard Castle got some sunshine, much to the delight of the locals

The sunset created warm colours in the sky over Hartlepool

Meanwhile, our four-legged friends in Berwick-Upon-Tweed enjoyed the sunset too
