Driver charged with causing death of 86-year-old pedestrian

A driver has been charged with causing death by careless driving after an 86-year-old pedestrian was hit by a Mercedes car in Glasgow.
The man was struck on Stamperland Crescent, near the Clarkston Toll roundabout, on 17 May.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries but died on 23 May. No-one else was injured.
Police said the male driver, 55, would appear in court at a later date.
