Murder charge over man's car park stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after a 19-year-old was stabbed to death in a car park.

Mohammed Afzal died after the attack on Market Street in Bury at about 21:00 BST on Friday, Greater Manchester Police said.

Abbas Hussain, 19, of Bolton, was being questioned and has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court later.

Two men remain in custody while two other men, who were also arrested, have now been released on bail.

Det Ch Insp John Charlton said: "Our dedicated officers are working tirelessly on this case and have secured one charge of murder.

"As our investigation continues, we encourage anyone with information to come forward."
