Women's Institute to shrink for Hornby anniversary

Women's Institute members will be shrunk down into miniature models to celebrate Kent-based Hornby's 70th anniversary.
The model train manufacturer is displaying a tiny version of local landmarks and people at Margate railway station to celebrate the anniversary of the company being based in the town.
Seven of the 70 members of Margate Women's Institute (WI) will be enshrined in the model alongside hundreds of others.
Hilary Askew, president of Margate WI, said it was "really rather nice" that the 2-3cm models of the ladies would be "all together, standing campaigning" outside the model station.
Margate WI is part of a national movement which brings women together, often campaigning in their local communities to make a difference.
Mandy Jarvis, a Margate WI member, said the group sees itself as part of the Margate community along with Hornby.
Models will include one member holding a quilt, like those made by the group for a hospital baby unit, and another with her litter-picking vest and equipment.
The group will feature in the new town layout alongside Dreamland, the clock tower, and the railway station, while trains travel along the track.
