A new contract for the recycling of glass bottles and jars collected from the kerbside in Guernsey has gone out to tender.

In 2023, 2,750 tonnes of glass was exported from Guernsey to the UK for recycling.

The current contract is due to expire at the end of the year and Guernsey Waste wants to get the best commercial rate for the material.

Any interested parties have until 27 September to submit a bid in response to the tender for a new contract starting in January 2025.
