A woman in her 60s has died in car crash after suffering what police believe was a medical episode while at the wheel.

The woman was taken to hospital but later died after the crash on Liverpool Road in Irlam, Salford at about 15:30 GMT on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police said it was thought her vehicle mounted the pavement before crashing into another car, whose occupants were unhurt.

A force spokesperson said officers were "looking to build a timeline of events" leading up to incident and appealed to the public for information.

This includes anyone who may have dashcam footage of the crash or who may have been in the area on Monday afternoon.
