Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in West Sussex.

A 25-year-old man was walking along Brighton Road, in Lancing, when he was hit by a car which failed to stop, Sussex Police said.

He sustained serious injuries and needed hospital treatment.

The incident happened between 08:45 BST and 09:00 on 3 September.

The car was a dark blue or black estate car, police added.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage is urged to contact the force.
