Steve Wright has appeared in court charged with the murder and kidnap of 17-year-old Victoria Hall in 1999.

The teenager disappeared on her way home from a nightclub in Felixstowe, Suffolk, and was last seen in the early hours in her home village of Trimley St Mary on 19 September that year.

On 24 September, her body was found by a dog walker in a water-filled ditch in Creeting St Peter near Stowmarket - about 25 miles (40km) from where she was last seen.

Mr Wright, 66, previously of London Road, Ipswich, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court via video link. No plea was entered.

He is due to appear at the court again on 24 September.

A provisional trial date has been put in place for June 2025 in London, although which court is yet to be confirmed.
