A man has denied smashing vehicles at a garage in Castel.

Michael Diver, 43, of St Marie, appeared at The Magistrate's Court to face 17 charges of damaging vehicles without lawful excuse.

Prosecuting advocate Jenny McVeigh told the court neighbours alerted the police at 04:30 BST on a night in May after hearing smashing at GM Motors based at the Thompson Motors site at Route de L'Eglise.

Mr Diver was remanded in custody until 12 November, when he is due back at the Magistrate's Court.
