Careless driving arrest over fatal biker crash

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving following a fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle.

It happened in the Moss Lane area of Trafford at about 09:30 BST on Wednesday, when a Citroen C1 struck the bike.

The rider, a 54-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene, Greater Manchester Police said.

The arrested man, aged in his 70s, has been bailed and police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
