Police are investigating after a suspected arson attack at a marina on the edges of Manchester city centre.

Firefighters spent four-and-a-half hours tackling the blaze at an outbuilding containing shower and toilet facilities at the marina in New Islington at about 01:00 BST.

Greater Manchester Police said it was treating the incident as arson but no arrests had been made so far.

No injuries had been reported, the force added.
