A woman has died in a house fire at a Highland crofting community in Lochaber.

Four fire engines were sent to the blaze at the semi-detached property near Glenuig, south of Lochailort, at about 10:45 on Wednesday.

The fire closed the A861 at the scene for several hours.

Police Scotland said its inquiries into the incident were continuing.

Glenluig is situated about 30 miles from Fort William on the Sound of Arisaig.

The are around 20 houses and holiday homes in the small community.
