A play park has reopened after refurbishment work saw it shut for nearly a month.

Rushcliffe Borough Council closed Bridgford Park in January for what it described as "vital" repair works.

The new play equipment includes seesaws, wheelchair-accessible roundabouts and eco-friendly chimes and rain maker.

It comes as part of the council's £1m investment for parks and open spaces owned by the authority, which will see works carried out over five years.

The authority said revamps were also set to take place at Bridge Field Park and West Park in West Bridgford in due course.

The refurbishments follow the results of a survey conducted by the council, where residents shared their views on what they wanted to see in their local parks.

Jonathan Wheeler, the council's cabinet portfolio holder for leisure and wellbeing, ICT and member development, said: "It's great to see Bridgford Park reopen ahead of the half-term so that local families and visitors can enjoy these brand-new play facilities."
