Council offers free vouchers for high street ideas

Hull City Council has arranged public engagement sessions across the city

People can get their hands on shopping vouchers and free visits to attractions as a local authority asks for feedback on how to spend £6m on its high streets.
Hull City Council is offering the incentives as a part of a plan to improve 16 neighbourhoods and local centres across the city.
It is part of its Community High Streets Programme, which aims to enhance the areas, lead to increased satisfaction, footfall and commercial spend, and reduce shop vacancy rates.
Councillor Ted Dolman, the council's portfolio holder for communities, said: "The council wants to create sustainable neighbourhoods and resilient communities and this project is just the start of that."
Engagement sessions
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the aim of the latest round of engagement, which can be done either online or in person, is to give residents and business owners the opportunity to have their say and input on the outcomes of the project.
The plans have been shaped around feedback that was given in public engagement sessions that were held earlier this year.
The latest survey will be available online until Friday 24 October.
Everyone who completes a survey can enter a draw for a chance to win prizes including behind the scenes visits to Hull Maritime Attractions and Love2Shop gift cards of up to £100.
The public engagement events include:
Pearson Park - Wednesday 27 August, 11:00 to 13:00 BST
Wilberforce College - Saturday 13 September, 09:30 to 12:30
Gipsyville Library - Wednesday 17 September, 10:00 to 12:00
Pennine Community Centre - Tuesday 23 September, 10:00 to 13:00
Woodford Leisure Centre Cafe - Thursday 25 September, 10:00 to 13:00
Johnny Whiteley Community Hub - Thursday 9 October, 11:00 to 13:00
Dolman added: "This is a community-led project and the council has already had fantastic community buy-in from residents and businesses alike."
