The husband of a woman who died after she was hit by a vehicle while walking along a dual carriageway has paid tribute to her.

Linda Hesford, 24, from Poole died on 4 December after being struck on the A35 Upton bypass near Poole, Dorset at about 20:10 GMT.

Police said she had been walking eastbound from Upton towards the Shell garage.

Mr Hesford described his wife as an "incredible" stepmother and "loving wife... with a heart so big and a soul so beautiful".

"Linda was angelic and positively affected all who knew her... we were blessed to be in her presence.

"I found my true love in Linda and she was my absolute," he said.

In a statement released by Dorset Police, Mr Hesford also thanked the emergency services who "did all they could".

Dorset Police said a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of the crash was being carried out and urged witnesses and any drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
