A man has been arrested on suspicion of helping a suspect who is wanted over the fatal stabbing of Yassin Alama.
Mr Alama, 19, was found with serious injuries on Hutton Road, Lozells, on Sunday, West Midlands Police said, with several attempts having since been made to arrest 17-year-old Oumar Traore.
The man, aged 20, was arrested at about 13:00 GMT in Birmingham on suspicion of assisting an offender, as part of the investigation into the murder of Mr Alama.
Jenny Birch, from the force's homicide team, urged Oumar Traore to hand himself in, adding: "Anyone who is helping him evade capture also faces arrest."
She said: "Yassin's family have been left absolutely devastated by what has happened, and we are continuing to update them and support them as our investigation continues.
"We have officers working around the clock to locate and arrest Traore."
If members of the public have any information on his whereabouts, they are asked to contact the force.
