Lincoln Castle and the city's crown court were shut and evacuated after what police said was a "threat to public safety".

The court building, which is within the castle grounds, was evacuated shortly after 11:30 GMT on Friday.

Members of the public were unable to access any part of the castle grounds following the evacuation.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed the site had since reopened.
