This year's Lincolnshire Show will feature a brand new attraction - a beach in the middle of the countryside.

Around 60 tonnes of sand will be transported 40 miles (64km) inland from the coast to create the shore at the Lincolnshire Showground outside Lincoln.

The beach will be one of many activities at the show, taking place on 19 and 20 June.

Organiser Charlotte Powell, chief executive of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS), said the beach area would celebrate the "great traditional English seaside resorts" in the county.

According to organisers, the beach will be equipped with deck chairs and beach games.

As well as the seaside area, the show will also have a BMX demonstration, falconry display, dog agility, and a performance from TV and film stunt horse team Atkinson Action Horses.

Now in its 139th year, the Lincolnshire Show is organised by the LAS, a registered charity whose aims are to educate about food, farming and the environment.

The Show welcomes over 60,000 visitors, 5,000 school children and 500 exhibitors each year.
