Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of Kieran Quilligan in Cork.

Mr Quilligan, who was 47, had been missing from his home in the city centre for five months.

His skeletal remains were found in Rostellan, in east County Cork, on 29 January by a Garda (Irish police) search team.

Niall Long, 31, of St Michael's Close in Mahon and Luke Taylor, 26, of no fixed address, appeared before Cork District Court on Tuesday.

Both men have been charged with Mr Quilligan's murder on a date between 1 September 2023 and 29 January at an unknown location in the Irish Republic.

They were remanded in custody and are due to appear before the court again next week.
