Waste and recycling collections will run as normal during the royal visit bank holiday, the States of Guernsey confirmed.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla are due to arrive on the island late Tuesday morning, with a public holiday approved to mark the visit.

Although collections will continue, Mont Cuet household green waste and landfill site and the Land Reclamation site will be closed.

The Waste Transfer Station will be open between 04:00 BST and 08:00 to enable collections to continue as normal, the States said.
