Police have appealed for information after a woman was sexually assaulted while out running.

The victim was wearing a blue t-shirt, black shorts and a black baseball cap while running on the path near the river by Grange Pocket Park, Kettering.

A spokesperson from Northamptonshire Police said the woman was grabbed from behind by a man who sexually assaulted her on Sunday between 20:00 BST and 20:30.

Police described the attacker as white, and in his 20s, and wearing black clothing.

The woman was able to scream which resulted in the man running away.

Detectives have urged anyone who may have seen the assault to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to a dog walker who was walking two dalmatians and to four young men in the area at a similar time.
