A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Southport.

The attack happened in a property in Albert Road at about 17:20 BST on Saturday, Merseyside Police said.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and remains in a stable condition.

A 38-year-old man from Southport has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder while police appeal for anyone with information to contact them.
