Man suffers life-threatening injuries in stabbing

A man who was stabbed in the back has been left battling life-threatening injuries.
Armed officers were among those sent to the area around Eastbourne Road in Darlington at 14:30 BST following reports of an attack.
The victim, who suffered a single stab wound, was found on Louisa Street taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
A man has been arrested, Durham Police said, adding it was believed to be a "targeted attack" with no risk to the wider public.
Two police cordons were put up in the area and there will be "a large police presence for some time", a spokesman said.
Detectives have asked for anyone with information to come forward.
