A man arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of another man in Brighton, East Sussex, has been released on bail.

The 26-year-old victim was killed when he was hit by a van, which did not stop, as he was walking at the junction of Preston Road and Cumberland Road at about 05:00 GMT on Saturday.

The 40-year-old man was arrested after a van was stopped by police on the A27 in Worthing, West Sussex, later on the same day.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses.
