Blaze breaks out in Wells bar

Four crews were called to the fire at the Tramways Bar in Wells

Crews have been at the scene of a large fire which broke out at a bar in Wells.

Firefighters were called to the Tramways Bar, on West Street, at about 14:30 BST.

Avon Fire and Rescue service sent three pumps to the scene but the fire had spread to the roof by 14:47 BST and a fourth had to be called in.

By 15:48 BST the fire had been contained and crews were damping down hot spots.

The fire service confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental.

Wells City Council confirmed that Elim Connect will be used as a replacement Polling Station.
