Two suspects have been arrested after a woman was hit over the head with a ratchet during a robbery in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said the woman had just used a cash machine in Hartley Road, Radford, in the early hours of 2 April when she was attacked.

She told officers she was also kicked several times, before the £40 she had withdrawn was taken.

The victim said her friend had cash stolen from him in the same incident, and that she knew her attacker.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested at a nearby property later that morning, while a 49-year-old man was held three days later.

Police said as well as the two robberies, the suspects were further arrested in relation to an aggravated burglary at a flat in Norton Street, Radford, on 31 March.

The woman was also arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.

Both suspects were taken into custody for questioning and have been bailed with conditions pending further investigation work.
