Teenagers heading to end of school year parties can grab a bargain at a new pop-up prom shop which is raising funds for a hospice.

Eden Valley Hospice has opened a shop in The Lanes, Carlisle, to sell new and nearly new donated dresses and formal wear.

All funds raised will go towards running costs at the charity, which cares for adults, children and families from across Cumbria.

The pop-up shop is open daily until Saturday 1 June.

It is designed to help young people and their families who are in need of more affordable promwear or are interested in sustainable fashion.

Stephanie Lacaille-Burton, from the hospice, said: "It's just an amazing opportunity for people to get a dress and some of them are actually brand new with tags, which is wonderful."

Funds raised will go directly towards supporting the patients and their families who use Eden Valley.

Daily costs at the hospice, which operates continuously, run to £13,150.
