Man suffered life-changing injuries in attack

A man who was left with life-changing injuries following a "random" attack in Blackpool in July is still in hospital with severe injuries, his family has said.
John Forsyth, from East Lothian, was the victim of an unprovoked attack that resulted in a traumatic brain injury, they said, as they appealed for witnesses to come forward.
It happened outside the Shores Hotel on Tyldesley Road in the Lancashire town at about 01:00 BST on 28 July.
Mr Forsyth, who is aged in his 50s, had attempted to intervene in an altercation, the police said.
Officers have interviewed six men in their 30s and a man in his 20s on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and inquiries "are ongoing", Lancashire Police said.
'Random'
Appealing for anyone with information to come forward, Mr Forsyth's family said he had been on a trip away with his daughter.
They said: "Before the attack John was always active, had his own business and coached children’s football in his local community, all of this has now been impacted by a random assault.
“John’s wife, daughter, son and wider family and friends have been deeply affected by the random nature of the assault and the consequences of his injury.
"He and the family are looking for someone to be held responsible for what has happened to him, which has changed his life significantly and will continue to do so."
Police are also keen to speak to anyone who was in Happy Scot’s bar before 01:00.
