A baby was rescued after being accidentally locked in a car when keys were dropped inside the vehicle.
There was plenty of help from security and shop staff who supplied wires and hooks during the incident at Bentley Bridge retail park in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton, West Midlands Police said.
Officers were flagged down during a regular patrol of the site and the car was eventually opened, with the baby "absolutely fine".
West Midlands Police said that the incident of 8 October came during the same week as officers recovered a kitten abandoned in a bag.
The city centre team "got a bit more than they bargained" when they came across the kitten in the School Street area, police said.
The "friendly little fella" was "now getting the proper care he needs", the force added.

Elsewhere, a police team conducted a speed watch operation on The Droveway in Pendeford, with 70 vehicles passing by and 15 being found to be speeding, the force said.
On Thursday it said police were continuing patrols on grassland in the Ashmore Park area, after reports of off-road bikes. Officers were said to be keeping up "the pressure on keeping the anti-social nuisance at bay".
Among other matters, teams were also monitoring "inconsiderate and dangerous parking" in the city.
