Trial date set for man accused of Spalding murder

A man accused of murdering a woman whose body was found in her Lincolnshire home is due to stand trial in May.
Kristine Sparane, 37, was discovered at a property in Winsover Road, Spalding, at about 19:30 GMT on 26 November.
Brian Simpson, 64, of Nene Court, Spalding, is charged with murder and a provisional trial date has been set at Lincoln Crown Court for 19 May 2025.
He is due to appear at the same court on 9 January for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
The 64-year-old appeared before Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight on Tuesday afternoon via a video link from HMP Nottingham and was remanded into custody.
